A partnership began in 2016 between the Keon Park Stars JFC and Wembley Downs Cats JFC. This is a unique partnership between two JUNIOR football clubs from Western Australia and Victoria. Each year since 2016 (with the exemption of 2020 due to COVID-19), the Keon Park Stars have hosted Wembley Downs in a match played under lights at Donath Reserve as part of the Cats Melbourne Year 6 Trip. In 2019, this match became the Friendship Game. This partnership is integral for both clubs and shows the power of friendship between football clubs in different cities. The Friendship Game indeed truly embodies the true meaning of friendship, community, and football with both clubs coming together in a friendly manner- not worrying about the score- just playing a game of footy then socialising with the opposition post-match! It has been our pleasure to continue to host Wembley Downs for the past 5 years.
