In November 2019, the Keon Park Stars Junior Football Club and Heidelberg West Football Netball Club officially signed off on a “Memorandum of Understanding” and was lodged with the NFNL. Both clubs are heavily invested in the partnership with a desire to create a partnership of sustainability that will be beneficial for the long term futures of both football clubs.
Both Presidents and executive committee members recognised a mutual need for both clubs to be successful was to align with one common goal;
“Creating a long lasting relationship between two of the oldest NFNL clubs that would foster a relationship of growth, support and respect.”
The partnership will include a relationship with the Heidelberg West FNC through:
- KPSJFC Auskick representation at HWFNC Home games
- HWFNC senior player representation at junior training sessions
- Strengthen committee involvement at both clubs
- Aim to produce a pathway for juniors coming out of Keon Park to transition into senior football
This not only allows mates to continue playing together at open age level but gives the opportunity for Heidelberg West to consolidate their under 19s pathway which will allow for organic growth in future years.
Keon Park Stars JFC are excited by this opportunity to work with a successful senior football club in Heidelberg West FNC and establish a link between junior and senior football for those players who want to play football beyond Keon Park.
