Dear members, players, and our amazing Keon Park Stars families!
Wow! 2020 is almost over after another big year albeit on a different scale with the rollercoaster eleven months as well as no junior footy games throughout the year which was a disappointment to us all. As a club, we have missed all our players, families and supporters. You are the lifeblood of the football club and it has been difficult not being able to meet, socialise, train and play footy games with our mates this year.
Despite this though, we need to move forward and look ahead to 2021. Next year will be different no doubt about it however it also provides excitement of putting 2020 behind us and looking forward to brighter days ahead. 2021 is looking like a fantastic year for the Keon Park Stars! Back in 1961, the Keon Park Stars Junior Football Club was established and 2021 sees our great club mark a significant milestone with our 60th anniversary. It will be an amazing year full of excitement around the place. Kids will be back playing footy but we will also have plenty to celebrate with six decades of proud and passionate footy to acknowledge. We cannot be any more thrilled for 2021 and whilst 2020 was disappointing with no footy, it provided us time to work on some exciting developments, plans, reveals and ideas for 2021 and how we can make it as special as possible for the Keon Park Stars family. If there was ever a year not to miss, 2021 is the year!
Whilst lots of ideas are very much down the track in planning, we need to know what players we will have on board for our 60th year. Registrations are now open for 2021 so what are you waiting for?! In 2021, we are planning to field at least four sides with our aim for U9/U10, U11, U13, and U16. If you are returning to Keon Park in 2021, please either register or let us know you will be returning so we can best prepare for 2021. Please continue to ask friends and families whether they’d be interested in joining Keon Park for our 60th year. It will be a terrific season to play footy down at Donath Reserve and there isn’t any better year to join our family friendly club than next year for our big birthday bash!
For those who registered and paid up for 2020, your fees will be automatically transferred to 2021 next season should you return. If you are departing the club or would like a refund in your fees for whatever reason please contact us and we can facilitate this for you.
Whilst there won’t be a KPSJFC Christmas Party for 2020 with restrictions, we still have something in the works to celebrate the festive season so stay tuned for that. In the new year, I along with the committee and the entire KPSJFC community look forward to seeing you return to the Stars as we launch a massive calendar of events, activities, plans, and special 60th Birthday junior footy at Keon Park!
All the best and Go Stars!!
